Sims 3 High-End Loft Stuff

Postby pinkfiend1 » Sun Dec 13 2009, 10:58 am UTC

And yes that's actually the title. Catchy ain't it? You all know it will just get called Loft Stuff.
Just like everyone knew and feared the stuff packs are back.

Loft Stuff
Basically like all stuff packs it's just objects, walls and floors in what they believe are cutting edge designs, for teh lounge, office, den, and bedroom. Including special 10th anniversary gifts of sims 1 and 2 objects they think are the most popular.
And no they are not being nice and giving us the piano the majority of the community want. Cos lets face it you can be classical composer with just playing a guitar.
So what do we get? The heart shaped vibrating bed (did anyone actually miss that?) The electric guitar (do we need 2 types of guitar?) And the aquarium. Which here's hoping we can put our caught fish in there so we don't have to have 13 fish bowls dotted around to gain the perfect aquarium. Although saying that having piranha's and sharks in with other fish may be a bit of a bad move. :)
Release dates and pics unavailable, bar a tiny pic with a dodgy sofa, a stereo which looks like it will use 3 floor tiles, and a couple of sims in clothes which look strangely similar to already existing in game designs.

This actually has a different name for the UK (given that a loft here is not a classy apartment, but where we put the Christmas decorations). It will be called The Sims 3 Design & Hi-Tech Stuff

UK info page: http://www.eagames.co.uk/game/TheSims3- ... Tech-Stuff

I am so looking forward to the heart bed and the aquarium coming back. About time my fishing enthusiast Sims got something nice and big to put their fish in!

I dont know which name is worse.
I just get the feeling that the aquarium will have built in fish and you won't be able to add your own. It just has that feel to it.
Darn it I still want a piano. How hard can it be to make a workable piano for sims 3?

Incredibly hard... seriously, I can't even make a CHAIR! :eyepop:

Hmm, I am kinda a little disappointed with it. it doesn't sound overly fantastic. Then again, neither did M&G for TS2, but I couldn't have lived without it afterwards!

Yeah there were a lot of little details in M&G stuff. You didn't realise how much you liked it until you thought about the features it had added.

It does seem like EA are all about the details lately. In TS3 base game, they picked up on the fact that Sims 2 "clutter" downloads were very popular in the community, and included plenty of basic clutter of their own. In WA, they realised that downloaders of custom content appreciated it when the creator had included a version of the object without an overlay*, so most of the objects that came with WA had a version with no overlay.

Also, in WA (and the latest base game patches) they included a whole LOAD of interactions that were frequently requested in the community, particularly interactions between kids and toddlers, which are just TOO cute!!

They really are paying attention to what the community wants, and every last detail counts. I sincerely hope this continues, because this is great!

*The overlay is the non-recolourable area of an object, like the blue bear on the front of the potty, or the cake on the side of the kids' oven.

Well the community wants a piano, but I read somewhere they haven't done one, cos with sims 1 & 2 it borked with every ep and they had to spend ages fixing it, and theyjust can' be bothered with this in sims 3.

Yaeah the cakes and bear bugged me to.

I want a piano in my game too, but I'd really like to see some other instruments too. I liked how they added the violin to TS2, but what we really need is some woodwind!

The one thing I'm really missing that we don't have yet is those fences that had column-like thingys attached... you know, from M&G...? :duh: And some good windows, but the community are supplying those in droves!
